POPULATION

VOCABULARY

BIRTH RATE: number of births that take place in a population over a year.
DEATH RATE: number of deaths that take place in a population over a year.
NATURAL INCREASE: crude birth rates minus the crude desth rate. 
INFANT MORTALITY RATE: is the number of deaths of infants under 1 year dividing by the number of births in a year, per 100.
LIFE EXPECTANCY:  is the average years that one person may expect to live.
BIRTH CONTROL: methods of restricting the number of children born.
DEPENDENT POPULATION:  part of the population that does not work and relies on others for the goods and services they consume. 
DEPENDENCY RATIO: measure showing the number of dependents, aged zero to 14 and over the age of 65, to the total population, aged 15 to 64.
FAMILY PLANNING:  is the practice of controlling the number of children in a family and the intervals between their births, particularly by means of artificial contraception or voluntary sterilization. 
POPULATION PIRAMIDS/ AGE-GENDER STRUCTURE: is one way to look at the demographics of a country. .
REPLACEMENT RATE: A replacement rate is the percentage of a worker's pre-retirement income that is paid out by a pension program upon retirement.
FERTILITY RATE: the ratio of live births in an area to the population of that area; expressed per 1000 population per year.
AGEING  POPULATION:  is a phenomenon that occurs when the median age of a country or region rises due to rising life expectancy and declining birth rates.
POPULATION DISTRIBUTION: the arrangement or spread of people living in a given area.
POPULATION DENSITY: is a measurement of population per unit area or unit volume.
MEDC: is a sovereign state that has a highly developed economy and advanced technological infrastructure relative to other less industrialized nations..
LEDC: is a nation or sovereign state with a less developed industrial base and a low Human Development Index (HDI) relative to other countries.
OVERPOPULATION: occurs when a species' population exceeds the carrying capacity of its ecological niche.
UNDER POPULATION: can refer to the decline in population of any organism, but this article refers to population decline in humans.

SELF-ASSESSMENT

Now I can speak better, the thing that I liked more are the projects.  My greatest strength is grammar and the weakness is translation and vocabulary. I think I did well grammar and I confused in translation and the definitions about the vocabulary. I think that I need help about translation, we can practice more. Outside class I went to particular class of English, did the homework, projects and put things in the blog. The translation, vocabulary, participate more en class and speak less. I learnt about culture of Aborigean, the live in other countries...

VOCABULARY

DISAPPOINTING: causig or bringing about disappointment.
DRAMATIC: exciting, with lots of action.
DULL: not interesting, boring.
ENJOYABLE: something that is fund and makes you happy.
ENTERTAINING: affroding entertainment.
HILARIOUS: extremely funny.
INFORMATIVE: giving information; instructive.
ORIGINAL: new and different.
PREDICTABLE: when it´s easy to guess what will happend. 
REALISTIC: based in solmething real.
SPECTACULAR: wonderful to see, watch or look at.
TERRIFYING: causing or bringing terror.
TALENT: a special, often crative skill.
SPECIAL EFFECTS: unusual visual and sound effects.
AUDIENCE: the group of people listening to or viewing a public event.
BOX OFFICE: a office of a cinema... at which tickets are sold.
INCOME: payment for goods or forservices, or from rents or investments.
AWARD: a prize.
BEGINNING: an act of starting.
BESTSELLER: a product that sells very well at a giventime.
CRITIC: a person who writes reviews.
ENDING: the end.
FILM DIRECTOR: a person who tells actors what to do in a film.
HIT: success.
MAIN CHARACTER: the most important person in a film, book...
NOVELIST: a person who writes stories.
PLOT: what happens in a book or film.
REVIEW: a critical article.
SETTING: a place where a book, film... take place.

GEOGRAPHY. VALLADOLID

We went to Valladolid the 2 of November. First we went to the main square of Valladolid and we had free time, next we saw a concert of contemporanean music,that I didn´t like too much. Then we had free time to ate. Finally we went to Peñafiel a village of Valladolid and saw the castle and wine museum.
I had a good time.

PYRENEES

LOCATION
Is a range of mountains in southwest Europe that forms a natural border between France and Spain.

CLIMATE
 The amount of precipitation the range receives, including rain and snow, is much greater in the western than in the eastern Pyrenees because of the moist air that blows in from the Atlantic Ocean over the Bay of Biscay. After dropping its moisture over the western and central Pyrenees, the air is left dry over the eastern Pyrenees. The winter average temperature is -2 °C. There are some glaciers in the western and snowy central Pyrenees.

VEGETATION
The flora of the Pyrenees is overwhelming. Depending on the season, there is always much to see. The rocky area there is here a great variety of rock plants. Lilies, gentians, irises, orchids and many, many other flowers and plants.

FAUNA
Special Pyrenees residents that live here are the bearded vulture, the Pyrenean desman, the genet and the brown bear. Furthermore, the wooded areas are home to deer, wild boars, foxes, badgers and smaller mammals. In and around the water one can discover the Pyrenean brook salamander, rainbow trout and the dipper. Higher in the mountains one reaches the habitat of griffon vultures, bearded vultures, chamois, ibex and marmots. There are many species of lizards, newts, dragonflies, beetles and butterflies.
